How do I obtain a visa?
The process of obtaining a visa differs depending on the country. Please contact the respective consulate or go to their website for more information.
Do you offer translation/interpretation services?
We only offer translation/interpretation services to government-related or organizations (Prefectural/Municipal) and other International Exchange-related NPOs. We do NOT however, offer any translation/interpretation services to commercial enterprises. Please inquire with the translation/interpretation companies for services offered to commercial businesses. How can I have foreigners/exchange students sent over for international understanding purposes?
4. The Yamaguchi Prefecture offers 1 program where they send CIRs to schools and NPOs organizations such as the Boy Scouts and local community centers. Please visit the “Yamaguchi Prefectural International Division”Website for more information.
Where can I learn Japanese in Yamaguchi?

Can I obtain a Student Visa if I take Japanese lessons at YIEA?
Unfortunately, YIEA is not an educational foundation and therefore we do NOT issue Student Visas.
Can you help me find a host family during my stay in Yamaguchi?
We only offer the services to international students currently enrolled at a college or university in Yamaguchi Prefecture (Home Visit Program for International Students.). We do NOT offer such service to individuals.
What should I do if I want to teach Japanese?
In Yamaguchi Prefecture, there are no professional institutions to train Japanese
language teachers. However, the city hall works with Japanese
volunteers in the region and holds Volunteer Japanese Teacher
Training Courses in the spring and autumn. For more information

Also, our organization is holding a Japanese Volunteer Course
in the fall for those registered with YIEA. Volunteers will
learn the fundamentals of being a Japanese language translator/interpreter
volunteer.
Other options include taking a Japanese Teacher Training Course
at a college outside the prefecture, a course online, or through
sent textbooks.
If I would like to interact with foreigners, where should I start?
8. We hold Foreign Culture Courses several times a year taught by CIRs/international
students as lecturers.
Also, we have International Home Visit Exchanges in which international
students who attend a college or university in the prefecture
are introduced to a host family to get to know one another.

Furthermore, there are a great number of active international
exchange organizations in the Prefecture, and they provide
opportunities for Japanese to interact with foreigners by organizing
events and gatherings. You can search for the associations
or groups that most interest you through the "International Exchange Organizations" Page.
Is there anywhere I can obtain YIEA’s event information on a regular basis?
By subscribing to YIEA’s mailing list, you will receive updated information about YIEA including events through e-mail regularly.
Can we borrow your projector when we are using one of the classrooms?
Unfortunately we do not have projectors for the public to borrow, so please remember to bring your own.
